I dont see the big buzz about the new movie Twilight. People are practicully passing out in the movie theatres and i got invited and i was like "eh, i dont feel like going." My brother wanted to go and it was sold out until next sunday! CRAAAZZZYY! Tell me what you though about the movie... im curious.

I think that this movie is overrated. And, personally, any book series that has had such mass appeal in America would have to be something that I am a little nervous about reading...
I agree with Hannah on the mass popularity. I find that all it takes is a little bit of hype and people can completely miss the flaws and toss out their better judgments towards something.
I also think teenage girls are just very excitable. All I can think is that maybe it's this generation's answer to the classic romance novel. They get giddy off it, and to top it off, their "romance" hits the big screen.
I guess I'm mostly surprised by romanticizing of vampires again. Vampires were nasty, bloody, violent, horrible creatures again for a while. Now we're going back to the seductive, live beautiful forever vision. Bad or good, it's odd that that vision can still be so successful when it seems people are so out for violence and gore. Then again, I've heard there's very little that makes them vampires. I've heard they're basically trendy, model-looking teens that hunt for blood in the woods.
